Celebrating AusMusic Month: Triple J’s National 50th Anniversary Concert Series
As the vibrant tapestry of Australian music prepares to celebrate another exhilarating chapter, Triple J announces an extraordinary series of national concerts that mark not only their own milestone anniversary but also a grand celebration of Ausmusic Month. These events promise to captivate audiences across the country with an eclectic lineup of renowned artists and emerging talents.
A National Symphony of Sounds
In November 2025, as autumn leaves begin to scatter across Australian cities, Triple J will host five monumental concerts in different regions, honoring their storied history since January 1975. This year marks a significant juncture—their 50th anniversary—and these celebrations are set against the backdrop of Ausmusic Month, a period dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the nation’s rich musical heritage.
Tasmania: The Melodic Opening
The inaugural concert kicks off in Hobart on November 15th at Odeon Theatre. Audiences can expect an enchanting evening with Courtney Barnett, known for her evocative lyrics and distinctive voice; Luca Brasi, bringing their unique blend of alternative rock; Emily Wurramara, whose powerful songs echo Indigenous stories; and Gordon’s Grandson, who promises to infuse the night with his innovative electronic soundscapes.
Newcastle: A Weekend of Rhythmic Revelry
The festivities continue in Newcastle on November 21st at King St. Here, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers will electrify the crowd with their punk-infused energy, while The Grogans offer a soulful twist to indie rock. South Summit’s captivating performances are sure to engage listeners, and Horse brings its own brand of musical mystique.
Adelaide: A Southern Soirée
On November 22nd, Adelaide hosts an event at The Gov, featuring Tkay Maidza, whose dynamic presence blends hip-hop with electronic beats; Barkaa, who redefines pop music boundaries; Nerve, delivering high-energy tracks; and Zion Garcia, known for his eclectic style and vibrant performances.
Gold Coast: A Tropical Jam Session
The Gold Coast celebration is scheduled for November 27th at Miami Marketta. Mallrat will enchant fans with her dreamy synth-pop sounds; Darcie Haven brings a fresh indie flair; Jem Cassar-Daley’s country roots create a soulful atmosphere; and Lottie McLeod promises an unforgettable experience.
Torquay: The Festive Finale
The series concludes in Torquay on November 28th at the Torquay Hotel. Fans can look forward to Ninajirachi’s innovative hip-hop influences, FUKHED’s boundary-pushing sound, IsGwan’s lyrical prowess, and KSMBA’s captivating performances.
A Unified Celebration
These concerts are a testament to Triple J’s enduring commitment to championing Australian music while celebrating the diversity and creativity that define it. They serve as an integral part of Ausmusic Month celebrations, fostering unity through the universal language of music. Additionally, this year’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, coinciding with the Gold Coast event on November 27th, encourages participation by donating to Support Act’s essential programs.
While Western Australia won’t host a concert this time, they were fortunate to experience the One Night Stand in Busselton earlier this year, raising significant funds for supporting musicians. These concerts and initiatives highlight Triple J’s dedication not only to celebrating their own legacy but also to nurturing the broader Australian music community.
As ticket sales begin on October 10th, fans across Australia are invited to be part of these landmark events—a true celebration of the past, present, and future of Ausmusic. This year promises to etch a new chapter in Triple J’s history, resonating with fans old and new.
